Since the Odyssey is fixed, we will be driving it from Kissimmee, Florida to South Carolina and we’ll be staying there for a week. I’ve never been here before so the only thing I know of is the beach and that’s it. Any cool car related places nearby? And are there any Oppos in the area who’d be down to meet up or something?

Seriously, though, if you can visit Charleston on the way, it’s fantastic. One of the coolest cities in the US, if not the world. Savannah, too. I’d try to visit both — one on the way up, one on the way down.

It doesn’t shake as much as before and stopped leaking/lurching with shifts so it’s definitely an improvement from before. But you can never be too careful.

Seconded Charleston. I was stationed there for a year, it’s a great city. I went to Myrtle once and was pretty Meh about it. It’s a vacation destination, so mostly just normal boardwalk type stuff. It’s fun, don’t get me wrong, but Charleston has a lot more history and interesting sights. One of my favorites is Patriots Point (aircraft carrier, destroyer, sub, and tanks and helos that you can tour).

Howdy, I’m over in Florence (1.5 hours west of Myrtle Beach ). It’s a shame you’re coming on a Sunday because there’s car stuff going on Saturday in the Florence/Darlington area.

There’s not a lot to do car-wise in Myrtle Beach besides the expensive Wheels of Yesteryear museum that’s full of vintage muscle cars. They do have a lot of Hemis including a green Superbird. .

If you’re looking for stuff to do, then drive another 2 hours south to Charleston where you can visit Civil War forts, a WWII Essex-class carrier, and ritzy part of downtown Charleston.

I’m located in Florence, Jordan’s in Columbia/Lexington, and E90M3 is in the northwest corner of the state in Greenville. I’ll be at Cars and Coffee tomorrow in Columbia until 10am or so, then I’ll be at Darlington Speedway to do 3 pace laps around the track in the Miata, and then there’s a car and bike show in downtown Florence starting at 3pm but I don’t know what kind of quality of vehicles or crowd to expect.

Ah, tomorrow we're cleaning the house and packing then early morning Sunday we'll be driving there. Monday would be our first legit day there. Do you have their contact info? Ah, they must have their reasons I guess.

The address for the autocross is Fort Dorchester High School at 8500 Patriot Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29420. Technically, Saturday is not an autocross but a Tire Rack Street Survival School to train young drivers. Most if not all of the trainers are autocrossers. There is an autocross at the end of the day for both students and instructors.

If you want to stop by and say hi then you’re welcome to do so but I recommend visiting the Patriot’s Point to visit the old WWII carrier, destroyer, and submarine (that’s due to be sunk soon as an artificial reef).
